I'm a digital dude, pop-rock songwriter, and casual (basket)baller.
Growing up in the DC suburbs in Maryland, sports and music have always been two of my biggest passions I continue to pursue today. In college, I walked-on as a sprinter to the Track & Field Team – while today I’m more of a "civilian" athlete, I’m still down for the occasional hill workout or 5-on-5 streetball game!
Music has and will always be a major (no pun intended) part of my life. As primarily a guitarist and songwriter, I’ve played in rock bands that have performed up and down the east coast and at the CMJ Music Marathon in New York, and collaborated with a bevy of talented songwriters and artists such as Mike Okusami (Warner/Chappell), Zach Berkman (Razor & Tie), Zak Sandler (pianist for Wicked) among others.
Professionally, I began my career in the music business in NYC, working in various behind-the-scenes roles providing freelance artist management and marketing services, taking on everything from booking, PR, social media, project management, and more for artists spanning genres from pop to classical. I also worked as a digital marketer at record labels, where I oversaw social media and email marketing for artists such as Evanescence, Seether, Bayside and more.
Experiencing the transformation of the music industry from the physical to digital world piqued my interest in technology. I started going to various Meetups, took a couple basic web/mobile courses, and ultimately moved to Beantown for business school and graduated in May 2015. Whether it be developing actionable marketing and product recommendations for companies in parallel industries to music (NY Times, NPR), to developing marketing strategy and tactics for insurtech companies (AIR Worldwide, Analyze Re and Duck Creek Technologies) to exploring my own business ideas, to finding and collaborating on new opportunities in tech, I’m always up for my next challenge!
Today, I continue to dabble in everything from songwriting, drums, startups, bball, mid-distance running (as I can’t quite sprint like I used to ;)) and more.
